Library

Welcome to the Schuylkill Valley High School Library. It is the place to visit for recreational reading, homework, quiet reflection, and serious research. Students are welcome to visit the library during study hall, lunch, Activity Period, and after school. The SVHS Library has a 14,000-volume collection of books and magazines that is regularly evaluated for relevance to the curriculum as well as to the personal interests of students.

Students, please take advantage of the resources, complete your work, charge your device, and enjoy a quiet place to read, relax, and explore new horizons. Keep on reading Panthers!

Sincerely,

Mr. Reed, SVHS Librarian

"A book is the only place in which you can examine a fragile thought without breaking it, or explore an explosive idea without fear it will go off in your face. It is one of the few havens remaining where a person's mind can get both provocation and privacy."
Edward P. Morgan

Accessing Library Resources

SVSD uses Destiny and its "One Search" option to allow library users to search our books, quality websites, and a majority of our online databases with one click. The Google icon to the right of the search box offers a more accurate search of the web.

Students log in using the same username and password used to log in to their school computer. Students can also renew and reserve books using this system.

Destiny Login

Students should also be in the Library Schoology Group. To verify, check the notifications tab (bell on the upper right-hand side in Schoology).
